Abstract

Military leadership is a crucial aspect of national defence and cohesion, as it helps safeguard a nation’s interests and significantly influences the cohesion and stability of states. The essence of military leadership lies in its ability to navigate complex geopolitical landscapes, anticipate threats, and orchestrate effective responses. A cohesive military under capable leadership serves as a bulwark against internal strife and external aggression, safeguarding the integrity and sovereignty of the state. The impact of military leadership strategy on state cohesion necessitates the formulation of clear and achievable objectives, effective communication channels, ethical conduct, and a commitment to the well-being of personnel. The impact of military leadership strategy extends beyond national defence, permeating various facets of statehood. Key elements of military leadership strategy such as mission clarity and objectives, command and control structures, team building and cohesion, training and development, adaptability and innovation, and ethical conduct contribute to a sound military leadership strategy, ensuring unity of effort, maintaining operational tempo, and achieving mission success in complex and dynamic environments.
